A Look Towards Spring/Summer 2025

The arrival of a New Year heralds in the promise of a fresh start free from the shackles and of the year before. With Winter's harsh weather still chilling our bones, we start our New Years resolutions of more - more water, more movement, more fruit and veg, and more of what makes us feel good! For years now, we have started the year with good intentions. But far from oppressing ourselves, we recognise the importance of kindness, especially to ourselves. Rome wasn't built in a day after all!

Come January, the consensus in Biscuit is that we are done with the cold weather, dark mornings and short evenings. Put simply, we are longing for Spring. The arrival of fresh flowers, the joy of spring sun on our skin, lighter layers and lots of colour! 

Buying for the Spring season starts months in advance with plenty of appointments in person and on zoom to ensure we build a cohesive and lust-worthy selection for the season. It's more than just buying pieces we like, every item is carefully considered with our stores and customers in mind. Best performing brands are prioritised and we also keep an eye out for fresh new brands we feel fit the Biscuit aesthetic. The process is lengthy but fun and involves lots of travel - a source of endless inspiration. Whilst we like to keep our buy under wraps until arrival, we can't help but tease a picture here and there!

While neutrals always have a place in our wardrobe, anyone who has walked into one of our stores, or indeed checked out of new arrivals page online, can see that colour has an even bigger place in our hearts! We don't know when or why colour was, at some point, deemed as something to leave behind as we age, but we are glad that this notion is now being discarded.

Inspiration comes from everywhere around us - a good book, a gripping series, little souks and markets in far flung destinations, friends, brands and fabrics. As well as being inspired by colour, we love a good check and pattern as well as mixing silhouettes, styles and shapes.

Whilst our buy very much shapes the season ahead, we feel it helps to build a story around each - the result of these can be seen in our seasonal photoshoots. From Highland estates to afternoons spent in the cutting garden, we convey these stories through our marketing - from print media to blogs and e-newsletters.

As we prepare to enter the Spring/Summer 2025 season, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming shoots - but for now, think English Country Gardens, pressed cordials and sticky berry puddings!

It is a touch optimistic to be thinking about outdoor dining just yet - particularly as we scraped away the evenings frost on our car window just this morning - however we love to be prepared and look ahead to sunnier times!

A key theme to our Spring/Summer collection this year will be al fresco dining. We are imagining ourselves atop sun-bleached grass and checked blankets with an assortment of picnic foods - rustic quiches, pressed cordials and freshly baked bread. The sun is out but we are shaded beneath a covering of apple trees. The dappled light dances as music floats across the open space.
