Is Corduroy the New Winter Denim?
Having spent days and days in all our favourite denim - from jeans to jackets to shirts it often feels as if there is no way to mix it up. Granted, throwing on jeans and a top may seem like the easiest way to dress, but eventually we feel like we are telling the same story with what we wear, the same pieces over and over again.
However, I have found the perfect, comfortable and colourful solution to our ‘same story’ outfits… CORDUROY.
Cords for every age and here to stay. What better way to welcome, or even re-invite them into our wardrobes, than with stylish corduroy trousers. When you’re used to wearing work trousers in the week and jeans on a weekend, corduroy will replace them both - taking you directly from smart to casual!
American Vintage Ugoball Grey Knit (£130), Hoff Trastevere Trainers (£115), Second Female Boyas Sea Turtle Cord Trousers (£99), American Vintage Jacksonville White T-Shirt (£50), Part Two Rana Navy Cord Trousers (£44.97), Yaya Gold Hoop Earring (£22), Scotch and Soda Navy Floral Blouse (£94.95), Fioriblu Mimosa Chocolate Bag (£245)
How will my cord trousers make sense with the rest of my clothes? While I do understand the pressure to unrealistically piecing our trousers with every item in our wardrobe, can I tell you a secret? Corduroy will replace AND work with denim whilst also bringing a sheek autumnal twist to our most loved outfits - it’s as easy as pairing your favourite denim.

During winter there are definitely more days where we are pulling ourselves out of bed or sneaking a snooze for a few minutes longer. On those days, looking stylish and put together quickly can be achieved with the help of corduroy. Good thing we know a “40 something” really can rock a jumpsuit!!

We love the cold weather - extra chances to put more clothes on, right? The joy of layering is that you can get as many textures in as you want. And the key to good textures? Do I even need to say it?! Finish off your look with a cord jacket, or ever pop one under a coat, either way you’re onto a winner!
