Glastonbury 2024
Our Round Up of this years glastonbury festival - from the acts to the celebrities spotted
As Glastonbury 2024 draws to a close, we take a look at what was a spectacular weekend full of live music, historic line-ups, celebrity spotting and politics! The main stage alone saw over 100 acts perform over a relatively dry weekend at Glastonbury's Worthy Farm site in Somerset. Some of the big names included Coldplay, Cyndi Lauper and London Grammar.
Big Name Performers
Always a huge weekend for festival go-ers and performers alike, this year was no different. For the first time in it's history, Glastonbury welcomed two female headliners with Dua Lipa on Friday and SZA closing the weekend on Sunday. Sandwiched between them was Coldplay who proved exactly why they have been asked a record-breaking 5 times to headline the festival, more than any other artist. Encouraging fans to live in the moment and to put down their phones, their set can only be described as an assault on the senses - complete with lasers, balloons and giant confetti cannons.
Every Glastonbury Festival has a defining moment, and actor Michael J Fox appearing alongside the band to play Fix You on a peach guitar just might have been this years!
Elsewhere, the weekend was plagued with sound issues - most notably Shania Twain and Cyndi Lauper's sets which had tongues wagging across social! However there was also a surprising number of big names on smaller stages - favourites London Grammar appeared on the outdoor Park Stage, while festival favourite Kasabian, who headlined in 2014, played a not-so-secret set in the Woodsies Tent.
Celebrity Spotting
Ever since the days of Kate Moss and Pete Docherty pictured walking through the mud in trilby hats, micro denim and wellies, Glastonbury has been a hot-spot for celebrity spotting. This year was no different! Videos from over the weekend showed Tom Cruise dancing and enjoying Coldplay's headline set, Ordinary People star Paul Mescal parading through the fields in his very own short shorts, as well as style Queen Sienna Miller and It Couple Stormzy and Maya Jama.
FESTIVAL FAVOURITE
Presenter Jo Whiley proved again why she is a Glastonbury staple at this years festival. Whilst she struggled with her voice, the same cannot be said of her fantastic wardrobe. Serving killer looks all weekend, she isn't one to shy away from colour, pattern or silhouette. And it seems, like us, she is a big fan of the wonderful Stella Nova!
